Pokerfinnkampen 2012 - A three day event on the weekend 16th of November - 18th of November
The date is set for this years main event between Swedes and Finns. Like earlier years we will play the tournament in beautiful Tallinn Estonia and why not bring family and friends and let them enjoy Tallinn too.
Changes compared to last year is that we have decided to increase the starting stack and game days to three (3) for the main event. We will also arrange a Saturday Night Poker Tournament open for all nationalities. Poker Icons is currently negotiating with partner companies and we will constantly update our pages with the latest additons so please visit our How To Qualify page every now and then to see the latest addition.
What is Pokerfinnkampen?
Sweden and Finland have a long tradition of good competitions regardless if it is athletics, ice hockey or motor sports. Depending if you are a Swede or a Finn, you have a clear idea of which country is the better, even though the results might sometimes suggest otherwise. In tournament poker however, Finland has this far proven to be the better nation. In all national battles (Pokerfinnkampen), Finland has ended up as a clear winner each year.
The thought behind Pokerfinnkampen is to combine a national competition with an individual. The final outcome is based on position ranking as well as the so called terminator ranking, which is what turns the tournament into a battle between countries. For each eliminated player from the opposing country, points are gained. However, should one eliminate a fellow country-mate, points are deducted.
